Bellona grew up to a loving family of limited means, which meant they were unable to provide the future the bright young woman was capable of. In order to pave the way to her future and prove herself to those who doubted her, Bellona joined the Army. Her quiet competence did not go unnoticed by Io, a Hermetic Master who made a point of observing and grooming promising talents.

Under Io’s guiding hand, Bellona Awakened and was inducted into the Order of Hermes as a member of House Flambeau, where she excelled as she did everywhere else. In addition to her occult studies, Bellona has developed diverse interests in politics, finance, and research. Io, recognizing Bellona’s competence, left the Temple Works node in Leeds to her student, and left to pursue her own interests.

Unfortunately, in some ways, Bellona was the victim of her own success, capturing the attention of the Technocracy. After a few disastrous attempts, Technocratic agents stopped attacking her directly, but continue to hamper her efforts in other ways. For mutual protection, and to enhance her skills through contact with her peers, Bellona used her the clout in the Order of Hermes provided by her prowess to assemble The Centurions, a diverse collection of like-minded students of war.

As her name suggests, Bellona is an acolyte of Mars. Her Hermetic practice is channeled through her worship of the Roman God of Mars, who brings her victory on the battlefield. Bellona’s conception of the battlefield is broad, and extends to ventures such as finance and politics. However, her conventional weapons training and aptitude for combat magic (and the favour of Mars) makes her a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Despite her experience with firearms, of late, Bellona has dedicated her efforts to mastering the discipline of archery.

Bellona is unquestionably the leader of The Centurions, but tries to lead with a light hand, seeing herself as Praetor in the classical sense – that is to say, when it comes to matters of battle, her word is unquestioned, but otherwise The Centurions are largely left to their own devices. Bellona also makes a concerted effort to account for the specialties and expertise of all The Centurions when making battle plans and tactics.

Bellona was killed in a trap during an assault on Genesis.
